Asbestos Surveying Portsmouth

Asbestos Surveys and Registers, this is a key stage in managing asbestos, because we identify the location, type, condition and extent of any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). This can be achieved by conducting an Asbestos survey. The survey is should be in accordance with HSE guidance note HSG264 with describes two types: These types are Management Survey and Refurbishment and Demolition Survey. The management survey is a standard asbestos survey. it has a purpose to locate as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspect asbestos-containing materials in the building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, including foreseeable maintenance and installation, and to access their condition. Refurbishment and Demolition Survey is needed before any refurbishment or demolition work is carried out. This survey can be used to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all the ACMs in the building where the refurbishment work will take place or in the whole building if it is being demolished. The survey will be fully intrusive and involve destructive inspection, as necessary, to gain access to all areas, including those that may be difficult to reach. A refurbishment & demolition survey may also be required in other circumstances.

The type of survey we will have to undergo will be dependent on the client/property specific requirements and will be established during the survey planning phase.
