Asbestos Surveying & Removal Bournemouth

At ACL we are able to provide you with a management survey and a refurbishment and demolition survey. Surveying is a key stage in managing asbestos, this is because you need to identify the location, type, condition and extent of any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). This can be achieved by conducting an asbestos survey. The survey should be in accordance with HSE guidance note HSG264. The management survey is a standard survey and its purpose is to locate the presence and extent of any suspect ACMs in the building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, including foreseeable maintenance and installation and access to their condition. Then we have the refurbishment and demolition survey, this is needed before any refurbishment or demolition work is carried out. This survey is used to locate and describe, all ACMs in the area where the refurbishment work will take place or in the whole building if demolition is planned. The survey will be fully intrusive and involve destructive inspection, as necessary, to gain access to all areas, including those that may be difficult to reach. This survey may also be required in other circumstances.

After your building has been surveyed, we can move onto the removal process, we offer a comprehensive and competitive removal and safe disposal service in Bournemouth. Asbestos has been used for more than 2000 years and in the UK alone over 1 million commercial, industrial and public buildings contain asbestos material. In the UK between the 1950s and the mid-1980s asbestos was used in a variety of products such as thermal insulation, fireproofing, electrical insulation and building materials. Even up until 1999 some asbestos products were still being used.
