At ACL we have an excellent asbestos testing service, which will enable us to find and remove any asbestos-containing material. We hold a full and unconditional heal and safety executive licence to work on or with asbestos and we also own and manage our own licenced waste transfer station permitted by the environment agency. Asbestos testing will help our team understand your premises better and will allow us to discover if you have ACMs inside of your property and if so we will be able to identify the location, type, condition and extent of the ACMs in the building.
A management survey is a standard survey you have on your premises to keep your asbestos register up to date. The purpose of this is to locate as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspect ACMs in the building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, including foreseeable maintenance and installation. Refurbishment and demolition survey is the other survey that is available to test on your property and this is used when you are going to refurbish or destroy a building; The test should be completed before any work is carried out. It will be used to locate and describe any ACMs in the area where the refurbishment work will take place or in the whole building if demolition is planned.
Asbestos can be hazardous because it causes four different diseases and kills 4500 people yearly, according to the HSE. Asbestos can be found in many places in and around your home and workplace in things like the water tank, property insulation, fuse box, floor tiles, textured coatings and more. Asbestos was mainly used between the 1950s and the mid-1980s and any commercial or industrial building that was either built or extensively renovated would more than likely contain asbestos.
